I think I've just had the best lamb and fish dishes in my life here. The food is incredible. I got to talk to the chefs and they definitely poured their heart into the work they did with this restaurant. The staffs are very nice too, professional and friendly. Absolutely recommend!

NÚC Kitchen & Bar - Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
NÚC Kitchen & Bar occupies a corner of Thao Dien that shifts personality with the light. By day, the front courtyard—surrounded by mature trees and topped with a glass roof—acts as a buffer between the street and the dining room, filtering in the kind of midday calm that makes a two-hour lunch feel earned. Come evening, the same space takes on a different weight: more deliberate, the kind of setting that makes diners slow down and stay.
The kitchen runs on seasonal tasting menus, and the approach is precise. Dishes arrive with handwritten notes, and the head chef regularly circulates to explain the thinking behind each course. The hamachi collar has drawn some of the strongest reactions—reviewers who have eaten at Michelin-starred restaurants elsewhere place it in the same bracket. Cocktails are treated with comparable seriousness: not background drinks, but compositions built to work alongside the food.
On weekends, live music fills the room without overtaking conversation—a calibration that is harder to get right than it sounds. The lunch format runs lighter and more casual, though the menu lists ingredients without specifying cooking methods, which suits regulars but can leave first-time visitors guessing. Portion sizes lean toward fine-dining restraint; guests who come expecting casual café quantities sometimes leave surprised.
Few places in Thao Dien combine a genuinely garden-like setting, a chef-driven kitchen running proper seasonal menus, and cocktails strong enough to anchor a visit on their own. The clientele skews toward couples and small groups looking for a full evening rather than a quick meal—and the kitchen seems calibrated precisely for that pace.
Reviews
Had a lovely dining experience at in Ho Chi Minh City. The ambiance is honestly one of the restaurant’s strongest points — elegant, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, making it perfect for a relaxed dinner or date night. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout the evening, which added positively to the overall experience. The food quality was definitely good, with creative presentation and refined flavors that reflect the restaurant’s contemporary European-Vietnamese concept. That said, portions and overall value felt slightly overpriced for what was served. While everything was enjoyable, I expected just a little more at this price point. Overall, still a very pleasant and stylish dining spot worth trying for the atmosphere alone.
My first visit to NUC Kitchen & Bar was at a friend’s invitation, where we shared 8 dishes. The menu alone wouldn’t have convinced me to choose this restaurant. That said, it doesn’t affect my assessment of the food or the service. The service was attentive, and when the chef himself came to greet us, he clearly answered even our more detailed questions about the ingredients and preparation. The gnocchi was so memorable that a few days later I came back with my husband just to order it again, and it was just as delicious. Made with cassava instead of potato, it’s unlike anything else. Every dish we tried was perfectly seasoned, showcasing local ingredients in creative takes on familiar international flavors. Don’t forget to order their coffee; it’s made with exceptionally high quality beans. My husband is very particular about his coffee, and even he was impressed. They really go all out when it comes to quality. NUC Kitchen & Bar has become our go-to for impressing out-of-town guests.
Stepping in here for lunch feels like leaving all the stress at the door. It’s like coming home—the atmosphere is so gentle and the scent is incredibly calming. 🌿 The staff were so helpful in answering all my questions, and I ended up ordering the absolute perfect lunch. If you need a place to recharge your soul (and your stomach), this is it.
Absolutely worth it!! An amazing balance between western and Vietnamese. I tried the Pomelo salad and the wagyu with apricot. Both top notch. The flavour, the cooking, the presentation.. everything. I just finish eating and I wanted to leave this here for everyone else to enjoy this place. Soft music, candles and an amazing atmosphere just in the middle of Thao Dien. If you want to delight yourself, come here.
