Poke Saigon Thao Dien - Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Poke Saigon on Nguyễn Duy Hiệu draws a steady mix of expats and health-conscious locals who've turned it into a weekly ritual. The format is simple — pick a base of sushi rice or brown rice, choose a protein, then move down a row of sauces and toppings — but the execution is consistent enough to sustain a 4.9 rating across more than 1,200 reviews. Bowls run between 190,000 and 205,000 VND; staff at the assembly bar are notably generous with portions, to the point that regulars occasionally ask them to hold back.
Salmon leads the menu, appearing across several configurations: the Californian pairs it with spicy mayo, guacamole, and surimi crab; the Savory takes it toward shiso miso sauce, quail eggs, and mushroom. Ahi tuna holds its own in the Hawaiian alongside shoyu sauce and wakame seaweed salad. For non-fish eaters, vegan tuna and falafel are both on offer — uncommon in a poke format and quietly valued by the vegetarian crowd, though anyone avoiding fish sauce should confirm individual sauces with staff before ordering.
The interior is minimal and uncluttered, which suits the pace of the neighbourhood. Sundays pull a relaxed lunch crowd often combining the meal with nearby shopping before grabbing a bowl to go for the start of the week. The sushi baked — sushi rice gratin layered with salmon and melted cheese — reads as a side item on the menu but draws its own consistent orders.
Portions lean small relative to the price point, and the toppings bar can thin out during the midday rush if replenishment hasn't caught up. Arriving before the peak hour secures the full spread.

So delish!!! And fresh and the people are very sweet
Sundays in Q2 are perfect for a relaxing plan: lunch, some shopping, afternoon tea or a massage, then grabbing a poke bowl to-go for a healthy start to Monday. This poke shop has a simple, clean, and comfortable interior. The menu is diverse and the salmon is very fresh. My bowl cost 205,000 VND — a bit pricey by Vietnam standards, but the quality makes it worth it. I’ll definitely come back. The only downside is that PITAYA Bowl has never been available (I’ve tried about five times). Really hope to try it next time!
The food here is soo good and really fresh!! I’m vegetarian so I’m really happy that they have a vegan tuna options as well as a a falafel option for the veggies :). I did notice that I had been given the chilli mayo (orange sauce) multiple times before one of the servers told me it actually had some kind of fish sauce in it (which I can’t have as a veggie!!) so I would recommend double checking the sauces and letting them know your dietary requirements if you have them
Is it a bit much to say this is the best place for poke in Saigon? I do not think so! I have tried all their branches, and none of them have let me down. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are always so friendly and cheery. For just VND 190.000, you can pick two types of poke and over 20 delicious toppings to create your perfect bowl. The staff are very generous with the toppings, and I have had to ask them a few times to hold back a bit as I have a tiny appetite, haha. I usually go for half sushi rice and half salad as my base. For the poke, I love something spicy, so I choose spicy salmon and octopus mixed with wasabi mayo. When it comes to toppings, they all look so tempting, and you can pick as many as you like. I would recommend adding some red pickled ginger to your bowl, as it can help prevent an upset stomach from eating raw seafood.
