Very creamy curry, tasty. I think they slightly adapt to Viet cuisine but i still feel very original. Simple setup and decent place and also very reasonable prices, to have meals but friends and family. Strongly recommend

Pranaam Bharat Restaurant, Vietnam - Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City
About This Place
Pranaam Bharat sits on Nguyễn Cừ in the residential core of Thảo Điền, a neighborhood where Indian restaurant options tend toward either overpriced or underwhelming. This one cuts through both problems. The smokey butter chicken has developed a following among repeat visitors who rate it above pricier competitors across the city — the smoke comes through as a flavor rather than a marketing claim, and the naan arrives with both crispy and chewy sections in a single piece, a textural detail regulars mention unprompted.
The space is small. Tables sit close together and seating fills quickly during peak hours. What this produces is an atmosphere that runs quiet rather than lively — conversations carry without effort, ambient noise is minimal, and the setup suits long meals over rushed midday visits.
Pricing is the clearest differentiator. Multiple reviewers have flagged it as the most affordable Indian food in Ho Chi Minh City relative to portion size, and the gap is substantial enough that diners mention spending more than planned simply because ordering another dish remained reasonable. Mutton samosa, prawn biryani, gobi chilli, and fish curry — aromatic, with a calibrated spice level rather than heat for its own sake — anchor the menu alongside the butter chicken. The garlic naan functions as the default pairing recommendation across several reviews and holds up to rich sauces without overwhelming them.
The kitchen does not appear to modify dishes significantly for local palates, which matters to Thảo Điền's sizeable South Asian expat community. A 4.9 rating across 311 Google reviews reflects consistent execution. One negative review surfaces a palak rice dispute and a refund conflict worth noting, but the pattern across hundreds of meals suggests those are the exception rather than the norm.

Reviews
I went to an Indian restaurant and tried some unusual dishes: lamb, shrimp, and salads. Everything was really delicious, but also so spicy that it was hard to eat sometimes 🌶️😄 What surprised me the most was the service — the chef accidentally made a shrimp dish for me, and they gave it to me for free. In the end, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back again.
Was surprised this place had no customers when I came in because it was so good!!!! Better than any Indian food place I've eaten in the city, heavily recommend (as a viet myself)
Delicious 😋 great food Minimum waiting time Cozy place Fairly priced
Best Indian restaurant in town! You should definitely come and try it — they offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Located on Nguyen Cu Street, Thao Dien.
