The coffee was fine. We had Tiramisu Latte and Butterscotch Brulee. The drinks were filled to the brim and were pretty hard to fully stir. Notice: No side water is available, as well as changing oatmilk to fresh milk for the signature menu. We arrived at around 2PM, yet they had already ran out of tea, fin coffee, and steaks. Service: They serve as full-service. However, as we sat outside, the staffs didn't notice when we are ready to order. There were 6 of them standing inside by the counter and talking (visibly).

SOKO Cake Bake & Brunch - Xuân Thủy - Brunch restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

About This Place
SOKO Cake Bake & Brunch on Xuân Thủy has built a serious reputation around its crochi — a croissant-mochi hybrid that comes loaded with fillings. The dark chocolate version is dense and layered, stuffed inside the croissant and topped with a mochi also filled with chocolate, landing somewhere between a French patisserie and a Japanese confection. The matcha variant draws regulars who return for it specifically. The avocado croissant operates at a different price point than most of the neighborhood's cafés, and the reviews make clear that repeat visitors consider it worth the gap.
The menu runs deeper than the pastry case suggests. Asian-inflected brunch plates — broken rice, eggs benedict on brioche — sit alongside a substantial drink list, which catches first-time visitors off guard. The kitchen is genuinely cooking across registers: one reviewer describes the broken rice as surprisingly good; another notes the brunch level holds up against Western standards. The crowd is heavily international, though the menu doesn't lean into fusion for its own sake.
At 4.8 stars across nearly 1,800 Google reviews, SOKO sits in a different tier from most Thao Dien café-restaurants. The room keeps the music low enough for conversation, and staff are comfortable in English — details that matter for a venue where the diner is often navigating an unfamiliar menu. Weekend hours open an hour earlier on Saturday and Sunday, which reflects how the place actually functions: this is a brunch destination first.
Pricing requires attention: listed prices exclude a 5% service charge and 8% VAT, and still water is Evian at 80,000 VND. For a single pastry order in Thao Dien, the crochi is the case for choosing SOKO over any of the neighborhood's other bakery-café options.

Reviews
The cakes were delicious, fresh, and perfectly balanced in flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy some sweet treats. Definitely worth a visit !
Upstairs was closed off for a private event so we sat downstairs, many people coming and going which disrupted the peaceful atmosphere which normally I enjoy. Ordered 2 best sellers off the food menu, the burger was nice but the salmon dish didn’t impress me. One of the drinks we wanted wasn’t available. Didn’t enjoy this meal as much as the past ones.
Very nice cafe/ brunch place with lots of choice Service is great, nice and attentive staffs, even the door man said thank you when I left The food was under-seasoned, and there wasn’t even salt/ pepper on the table, I am eating clean so its not a big issue but if you’re used to authentic Vietnamese flavors, the dish comes across quite bland. Price is on the high side but its worth it for the vibe and location, I would come back to try other dishes
Second time dining in SOKO franchise and the food never disappoints!! All the food is really pretty and tastes good as well 🤤 The waitress (Yen Phi) who attended to us is so attentive and her service is really amazing. I think the people here speak some English so should be no issue for foreigners who want to come here. I personally recommend the mermaid matcha latte for a balance of floral and matcha ❤️❤️
